YOUR GUIDING ARCHITECT

Daniel Pillai
THE INCIDENTAL ARCHITECT
Registered Architect, Board of Architects Singapore
Master of Architecture, National University of Singapore
Architecture wasn't always an obvious path for Daniel, and he has pursued it through many unconventional avenues. What once felt like an elusive dream became a reality when he was admitted to architecture school later in life.
While it may have seemed an incidental occurrence, architecture had always been his true calling. Today, Daniel is fervently involved in the dynamic intersections of architecture, landscape, interiors, and product design. With over 23 years of experience as a research-based practitioner and academic, he has led numerous architectural design research trips for students and architects across Asia and Europe.
Daniel’s research interests lie in the evolving concepts of neo-luxury and sustainability, addressing critical social, ecological, and environmental issues. As a former principal at WOW Architects, he advocated for regenerative design and architecture, viewing architecture as a foundation for ecological restoration.
Having spoken internationally as a thought leader in sustainable and regenerative design, Daniel is a licensed architect and principal at Incidental Architects. Based in Singapore, his expertise includes high-end luxury residential and hospitality projects that thoughtfully integrate vernacular and contextual sensitivities.
As your guiding architect, Daniel offers contextual snippets of information into the planning and design of Singapore, its urban planning policies and critical insights into the architectural marvels that have made this vibrant city-state in nature.
